Air raids were reported in Ukraine on Tuesday morning as Russia launched attacks on Kyiv, Lviv, and the Zaporizhzhia region. The General Staff of Ukraine's Armed Forces stated that preliminary information indicated that Ukrainian air defense systems had successfully shot down 32 out of 35 Russian-launched Shahed drones, which are of Iranian origin. The military facilities and infrastructure of Ukraine were targeted in the attacks. The southern region of Zaporizhzhia was specifically mentioned as a target. In Lviv, preliminary reports suggested that a critical infrastructure object was hit, but no injuries were reported.
Additionally, on Monday night, a high-ranking Ukrainian defense official acknowledged that Ukrainian forces were facing significant challenges in advancing their counteroffensive due to strong Russian resistance and well-established defensive positions.
